Housing Match is designed to support compliance with applicable Australian privacy requirements, including the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. Housing Match applies privacy-by-design principles: data minimisation (only information relevant to housing, support and compatibility is collected), consent-led sharing, participant control (access, correction and withdrawal), organisation isolation (each provider sees only their own data), and transparent cross-border AI processing.
What we use
- Essential cookies — required for authentication, session security and core platform function. These are managed by the hosting platform and cannot be disabled if you wish to log in.
- Preference cookies — remember your UI preferences (such as dismissed banners). Stored locally on your device.
- Analytics — Housing Match records aggregated page views and usage events via first-party internal analytics, and uses Google Analytics 4 for website measurement on the housingmatch.com.au domain (IP addresses anonymised; advertising features, demographic reporting and User ID linking are not enabled). No third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies are used.
What we do not use
- No advertising or marketing tracking cookies.
- No third-party advertising networks or cross-site trackers.
- AI processing does not set tracking cookies. The AI Assistant chatbot does not use cookies to access participant documents.
Managing cookies
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies will prevent you from logging in. Analytics is first-party and may be declined through your browser's Do Not Track preference where supported.
