Why Housing Match was created

Housing Match began with a simple, stubborn question: why is it still so hard to find the right home for a person with disability?

Every day, support coordinators, allied health professionals and hospital teams spend hours emailing, phoning and piecing together spreadsheets — trying to match a person's needs, preferences and funding to a vacancy that may or may not be suitable. Providers do the same from the other side, fielding referrals that don't fit and watching good matches slip through the cracks.

The cost of that friction isn't measured in time alone. It's measured in delayed discharges, in placements that break down, and — most of all — in people waiting too long for a home where they can feel safe, supported and known.

Housing Match exists to take that friction away. Not to replace the judgement of the people who know a participant best, but to put the right information in front of them, clearly and quickly, so a good decision can happen sooner.
