Can my Support Coordinator apply for housing on my behalf? Yes, your Support Coordinator, Recovery Coach, or other formal advocate can assist you in navigating the Housing Match platform and submitting an Expression of Interest (EOI). However, there are important steps and requirements to ensure your preferences are accurately represented: ### Authorization and Consent Before a Support Coordinator can manage your profile, search for properties, or submit an EOI on your behalf, they must have your explicit, informed consent. Because Housing Match involves sharing sensitive information—such as your NDIS plan, Occupational Therapy (OT) reports, or behaviour support plans—we require that all document sharing be authorized by you directly. ### The Application Workflow While your Support Coordinator can help you navigate the platform and use our decision-support tools (such as compatibility assessments and matching scores) to find suitable SIL or SDA vacancies, the final submission of an EOI represents your formal interest in a property. Your coordinator can assist with: 1. Searching for properties that match your NDIS funding and personal requirements. 2. Utilizing our matching scores to identify potential compatible living arrangements. 3. Drafting and submitting an EOI based on your specific housing goals. ### Important Considerations Please remember that while Housing Match facilitates the search and matching process, we do not make placement decisions. Once an EOI is submitted, it is reviewed by the relevant SIL or SDA provider, who will coordinate with your support team and family. If you are looking to change your current housing or transition to a new housemate, we recommend discussing this with your support coordinator or provider first. Once a plan is in place, you can use the Housing Match portal to submit a new EOI. If you are a Support Coordinator assisting a participant, please ensure you have clear, documented authorization before acting on their behalf to maintain compliance with NDIS privacy standards.
